As many of you know, my running coach is Danny Haralson of Run University. While he is currently helping me get some speed going so I can attempt to PR in Vancouver (SeaWheeze here I come!), he is also the person I credit with making me into a runner. Since running is one of the best parts of my life, I owe him an awful lot. You can read up on his training program and how it works here.
I’m not the only one who Danny has inspired to start running. In fact, I’d say a huge percentage of the runners in Birmingham have either been coached by him or have benefitted from his countless volunteer efforts in the running community.
Last night, I was lucky enough to participate in a wonderful (surprise) 60th Birthday celebration planned by Danny’s wonderful wife Micki. The party was held at the new Cahaba Brewery in downtown Birmingham and the beer was excellent!
Here are a few photos from last night’s fun!
Great party, honoring a great guy! I think this sign says it all!
